Carver Voices | Interview with Emmanuel Sánchez

What program did you study at Carver University and when did you graduate?

I completed the Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Carver University and graduated in 2024. This decision marked a turning point in my professional development, as it allowed me to complement my clinical, academic, and management experience with a strategic perspective on administration and organizational leadership. The program not only enriched my previous studies but also provided me with concrete tools to navigate the current challenges in higher education and the healthcare system with greater clarity.

Why did you choose to study at Carver University?

Carver University stood out as the ideal choice: an institution offering solid education with an international focus, while allowing me to balance my studies with a demanding professional schedule.

I found the MBA program to be practical, flexible, and modern, meeting my needs as a healthcare professional with academic and clinical leadership roles. I was also drawn to the university’s emphasis on experiential learning and its commitment to holistic professional development.

How would you describe your experience studying online?

Studying online was an extremely enriching experience. The format allowed me to progress at my own pace, manage my time effectively, and engage deeply with content directly applicable to my daily work.

Despite being virtual, I never felt alone; the well-designed campus, high-quality materials, and supportive academic team facilitated both autonomous and structured learning. This experience reinforced my belief that well-implemented online education democratizes knowledge and fosters valuable personal discipline.

Was there a professor or course that particularly impacted your academic journey?

I would highlight the modules on strategic leadership and people management. These courses encouraged me to reflect on my leadership style and rethink how I manage teams in both academic and clinical settings.

Beyond the content, the practical approach and expertise of the professors allowed me to immediately apply what I learned to real organizational challenges.

How has what you learned at Carver University helped you in your current professional career?

My MBA education has had a direct impact on the way I lead, manage, and plan. In my role as an academic and nurse—overseeing curriculum processes, accreditation committees, and innovation projects in clinical simulation—the MBA provided concrete tools to analyze complex scenarios, make informed decisions, and develop strategic plans.

It also broadened my perspective on institutional environments, enabling me to integrate healthcare, education, and management more effectively.

What is your current role?

I currently work as a university professor in undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs, actively participating in quality assurance, curriculum development, and academic coordination.

Simultaneously, I continue my clinical nursing practice, giving me a comprehensive and up-to-date perspective on healthcare education. This combination of academic, administrative, and clinical experience has been central to my career, and the MBA strengthened and consolidated this hybrid profile.

What achievements or notable projects have you accomplished since graduation?

Since graduating, I have participated in national and international conferences, particularly focusing on clinical simulation and artificial intelligence in education, which is the focus of my current doctoral project in Education and Leadership.

I have also taken on new challenges in academic leadership and management, reflecting the impact of the MBA on my professional growth. Additionally, I have engaged in educational innovation initiatives, applying knowledge in project management, organizational leadership, and team development.
