We know that many questions arise when choosing your university, that is why we have compiled the most common questions about Carver University. We invite you to review this information to answer your questions and learn more about what we have to offer.
1) Do I have to attend the live classes?
Each subject includes at least one synchronous weekly session, as well as instances of office hours, aimed at resolving doubts, deepening content and maintaining direct interaction with the teacher.
In case of not being able to attend a live session, it is recorded and available on the Canvas platform. However, the student must maintain an active academic participation during the course, complying with the activities, evaluations and spaces for interaction defined.
In accordance with the institutional academic policy, students must participate in at least 50% of the synchronous or academic support instances, except in duly justified situations.
Attendance at Carver University is understood as active academic participation, which includes regular access to the platform, participation in activities and forums, delivery of assessments, and interaction in synchronous spaces.
2) How are courses evaluated at Carver University?
The evaluations are carried out weekly, through activities, forums, tasks and work that are developed throughout the course. Each activity has weekly deadlines, allowing the student to organize their time, constantly advance in the program, and receive feedback throughout the learning process.
3) What types of assessments are used?
All assessments are aligned with the learning outcomes of the course and are graded using rubrics, ensuring clear, consistent, and transparent criteria for the evaluation of academic performance.
Courses may include different types of assessments, including:
· Participation in academic forums, aimed at the analysis and discussion of contents.
· Quizzes and knowledge assessments, with timely feedback.
· Applied activities, such as case studies, practical exercises or simulations.
· Written works and research activities.
· Oral or recorded presentations, in those courses that require it.
· Final project or integrative project, as the closing activity of the course.
These assessments seek to measure both theoretical understanding and the ability to apply knowledge in practical contexts.
4) What is the Capstone Project?
In certain programs, students are required to develop a Capstone Project as a final degree requirement.
This consists of an integrative project supervised by a teacher, in which the student applies the knowledge, skills and competencies acquired throughout the program.
The Capstone Project allows you to address a problem or topic relevant to the area of study, and is evaluated using formal academic criteria that reflect the learning outcomes of the program.
5) What happens if I can't turn in an activity on time?
In case of not being able to comply with the delivery of an activity within the established deadline, the student must request a formal extension or extension, presenting a justifiable support (for example, medical, work or other duly accredited circumstances).
Applications will be evaluated according to institutional academic policies and the criteria defined in the course syllabus. In the absence of a valid and approved justification, the activity may be recorded as not delivered, with the corresponding impact on the evaluation.
To manage this request, the student must timely contact their Academic Advisor, who will guide the process and channel the request as appropriate.

6) How do I know if I pass a subject?
The approval of a course at Carver University is determined based on the final grade obtained, according to the institutional evaluation scale and the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards.
To pass a course, the student must achieve at least:
· Undergraduate: 70% (equivalent to grade C or higher)
· Master's Degree: 80% (equivalent to grade B or higher)
The grades are expressed on a percentage scale and in letters (A to F), where each rank reflects the level of academic performance achieved.
In addition to passing each course, students must meet the following criteria for satisfactory academic progress:
· Qualitative criterion (academic performance):
o Bachelor's degree: maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.0
o Master's Degree: Maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0
· Quantitative criterion (academic progress):
o Pass at least 67% of the credits registered, measured cumulatively.
Failure to comply with these standards may result in academic measures such as academic probation or, in repeated cases, other actions in accordance with institutional regulations.
If the final grade of a subject is less than the minimum required, the course is considered Fail and must be taken again, in accordance with the program's policies.
7) Are there instances to resolve doubts?
These instances have a duration similar to the synchronous class (approximately 90 minutes) and are designed to offer personalized support, resolve doubts, deepen content and guide the development of the evaluations.
Participation in Office Hours is part of the academic interaction instances of the course, so its attendance is actively recommended as a complement to the learning process.
The schedules of both live classes and Office Hours are reported at the beginning of each cycle through the "Announcements" section in Canvas.
8) Who can I contact if I have problems with my course or the platform?
